Same marina, new ownership, quality boats.
Alligator Reef Boat Rentals is a brand-new LLC that took over the Islamorada location at Breezy Palms in early 2026. We rebuilt the fleet, replaced what needed replacing, and operate as a fresh business, independent of any prior operators at this address.
- 10 maintained boats, from 21' Sea Fox center consoles to 26' Sea Fox CC. Specs and photos match what shows up at the dock.
- Michael's direct number is on every booking. You call, you get a real person, not a phone tree.
- No boating-safety card? Book a captain for the rental, or take the captained sunset cruise.
- Islamorada is home. We're at Breezy Palms every day the weather holds.

Pick the boat. Pick the day.

Alligator Reef Lighthouse by boat from Islamorada.
A working screw-pile lighthouse from 1873 standing in four feet of water on Alligator Reef, one of the most beginner-friendly snorkel spots in the Florida Keys. Our marina at Breezy Palms is the closest rental dock to the reef.

Alligator Reef sits just offshore of Islamorada, outside the Hawk Channel reef line. From our dock at Breezy Palms, it's a 10-minute run in any of the fleet. Open Atlantic water, so we check the wind forecast with you before you head out.
The lighthouse is named after the USS Alligator, a schooner that grounded on the reef in 1822. The current structure was built in 1873 and is the second-tallest lighthouse in the Keys. Three mooring buoys sit directly around the lighthouse for snorkelers, maintained by the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. We mark them on the chart for you before you leave the dock.
Around the base: hawksbill turtles, parrotfish, sergeant majors, the occasional nurse shark. Visibility runs 30 to 80 feet most days. Bring fins, mask, and snorkel. We sell basic kits at the dock, but most guests bring their own.
The Islamorada sandbar. Bay side, anchor up, get in.
A wide shallow flat off Holiday Isle, about 20 minutes from our marina. The sandbar is where Islamorada spends Saturday: boats anchored stem to stern at slack tide, coolers out, music going. Weekdays are quiet enough to bring kids.

From Breezy Palms, the sandbar run is about 20 minutes and suitable for any boat in the fleet. At low tide the bottom is firm enough to stand on. At high tide you'll want a noodle or a tube.
Bring sunscreen, water, food, and drinks for the cooler. A Bluetooth speaker is nice if you want music; most boats in the fleet pair fine. The boat comes with an anchor and line, life jackets, and a basic cooler. Cell service is spotty on the bay, so set everyone's location-share at the dock and bring a waterproof case for your phone.
Larger groups (bachelorette, birthday, family reunion) usually book the 25-foot Hurricane deck boats: #03, #04, #07. Twelve guests, shade, a table, and a swim ladder. Reserve early. These book first on summer weekends.
Islamorada sunset cruise, captain on the wheel.
A private, captained sunset cruise from Breezy Palms. Up to 10 guests, Florida Keys waters, into the Gulf of America for the Golden Hour. The captain handles everything; you bring food and drinks.

The cruise departs the marina at 6:00 PM and returns by 8:30 PM. Arrive two hours prior with everything you want on the boat: drinks, food, a sweater if it's breezy. The captain handles the rest, and picks the route based on the wind and where the sky is firing that day.
Most cruises are for anniversaries, proposals, family birthdays, or end-of-vacation send-offs. Smaller groups of four to six get the most intimate experience. Larger groups up to ten still have plenty of space on the deck boats.
BYOB is welcome. Glass containers are fine as long as you handle them responsibly. We provide a cooler with ice.
For music on the boat, AirPlay or Bluetooth works on most of the fleet.
Recent days off the dock.
Real guests, real boats, real Florida Keys water. If you've got a photo you'd like us to feature, send it to Michael. We love seeing where the boats go.
